face in the crowd

"There she was sitting at the cafe. At her favorite spot, next to the windows that stretched from floor to ceiling. It was raining outside and the day was becoming night as Eric Clapton sang about tears in heaven. She looked at people crossing the street, holding hands, walking, talking, laughing, stopping, looking - all the normal pedestrian things. She was looking, watching. Then she saw him. A familiar face emerges from the crowd. He looked through the window, waving to her, signalling his arrival. And she laughed at the thought that she too was being watched as she watched the world go by. She was sitting there - being watched."

Suddenly...

Suddenly today....

I noticed that one of my cactus plants is sick.

yellow & orange are doing well...but pinky is a little off color. I've been under the impression that just cos they're cactuses, they're low maintenance. I'm dead wrong. hahah!

my sister was playing the soundtrack of Little Shop of Horrors in the car earlier.

song of the moment. i love it.

Suddenly Seymour

Lift up your head
Wash off your mascara
Here, take my Kleenex
Wipe that lipstick away
Show me your face
Clean as the morning
I know things were bad
But now they're okay

Suddenly Seymour
Is standing beside you
You don't need no makeup
Don't have to pretend
Suddenly Seymour
Is here to provide you
Sweet understanding
Seymour's your friend

[AUDREY]
Nobody ever
Treated me kindly
Daddy left early
Mama was poor
I'd meet a man and
I'd follow him blindly
He'd snap his fingers
Me, I'd say "sure"

Suddenly Seymour
Is standin' beside me
He don't give me orders
He don't condescend
Suddenly Seymour
Is here to provide me
Sweet understanding
Seymour's my friend

[SEYMOUR]
Tell me this feeling lasts till forever
Tell me the bad times are clean washed away

[AUDREY]
Please understand that it's still
Strange and frightnin'
For losers like I've been
It's so hard to say

Suddenly Seymour

[SEYMOUR]
Suddenly Seymour
He purified me
He purified you
[AUDREY]
Suddenly Seymour showed me I can
[SEYMOUR]
Suddenly Seymour showed you you can

[BOTH]
Learn how to be more
The girl that's inside me (you)
With sweet understanding

pollock

Jackson Pollock (1912-1956)

"When I am in a painting, I'm not aware of what I'm doing. It is only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fears about making changes, destroying the image, etc, because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well."
